Clinical trials
Your doctor may encourage you to participate in clinical trials that study new ways to treat metastatic NETs. Clinical trials are research studies conducted to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of investigational therapies in patients. By participating in a clinical trial, you may get early access to developing treatment options and, at the same time, help improve care for other patients with NETs.
The safety and efficacy of future treatment options are evaluated in phases. This is better explained in the image below. If you choose to participate in a clinical trial, your doctor will go through all the specific details with you.
