Guidelines
Treatments for NETs are rapidly evolving. Several clinical practice guidelines are available for NET specialists, which are regularly updated by multidisciplinary teams of international experts. These guidelines provide key recommendations on diagnosing and managing NETs and will help your care team decide on the best options for you.
In the EU, clinical guidelines for NETs are developed by the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) and the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). In the US, the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (NANETS) has also developed consensus guidelines for NETs.
In addition, the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN) has developed practical guidelines on optimal nutritional management of patients with cancer, which can help the nutritionist and other members of your care team recommend an appropriate diet for you according to your symptoms and side effects you may experience from specific treatments.
